Laneway Learning

A friend of mine told me about a place called Laneway Learning and what a clever concept it is! In a nut shell, anyone from the general public with knowledge on a topic can come in and teach to a group of people who are interested in the subject. The classes are super affordable at around $12 (a little more if you require supplies). The classes are normally a max of 20 people, so they fill up really quickly. They teach a range of different topics in suitable cafes that aren’t open at night. And unlike school you can have a glass of wine or a beer and sit back and learn something new.

So tonight I attended my first Laneway Learning class which was ‘How to make a simple garden posy’. It was held at Little Mule which was a perfect setting for a quick class in floristry. Casey began the class with a little slide show and gave us some hot tips for flower care and where to buy fresh and affordable flowers. She then gave us a demonstration on how to put it together and then let us go wild with the beautiful range of fresh flowers she had provided. The room smelt beautiful and everyone had a great time putting together their garden posy. If you live in the Melbourne area, I strongly suggest that you go and check them out at their website, like them on Facebook and sign up to their newsletter!
